Lodi, CA 95242

Raised on her family's farm in Collegeville, Marla Livengood personally knows the hard work and dedication of Valley Farmers and those that support the 9th Congressional District’s multi-billion-dollar Agriculture Industry.

A graduate of CSU Fresno with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics, Marla has spent most of her career ensuring farmers are not forgotten in Washington, DC or Sacramento. She currently serves as Regulatory Affairs Manager for the California Strawberry Commission where she represents farmers, processors and shippers of California’s strawberry industry. Her focus is ensuring farmers have access to crop protection tools, water and labor needed to produce healthy fruit that ultimately contributes over $3 billion to rural economies.

Prior to joining the Commission, Marla served in roles focusing on transportation, economic development and job creation. As Director of Jordan and Associates California office, Marla successfully attained federal support for projects that led to thousands of new jobs.

Marla also served as the Legislative Affairs Manager for the San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD). During her tenure, Marla worked with local, state, and federal representatives to advance RTD’s legislative priorities including RTD’s new Regional Operations Facility. Marla provided leadership by collaborating with various agencies to prioritize strategies to meet the needs of the County’s rural and urban transit dependent individuals.

Marla cut her teeth in public policy with Congressman Richard Pombo where she would ultimately serve as Legislative Director. In this role, Marla became deeply involved with agricultural policy and developed an understanding of the nation’s transportation policies. Marla staffed the Congressman's assignments to the Agriculture and Transportation & Infrastructure Committees advancing issues important to the Central Valley.

In 2012, The San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors appointed Marla to the County Aviation Advisory Committee (CAAC) where she provides her expertise in the development, planning and implementation of policy for the Stockton Metropolitan Airport whose total county-wide economic impact exceeds $500 million. Marla is also a member of the Junior League of San Joaquin County (JLSJC), an organization which has provided 8,000 volunteer hours to the community; she has served on the Board and as a delegate to the Junior Leagues of California State Public Affairs Committee (SPAC).

Marla and her husband Ray proudly call Lodi home where they raise their three children.
